Chapter 201 Diamond's Girlfriendship
Chapter 201 Diamond's Girlfriendship
Ivy's eyes avoided and she placed her hands on her lower abdomen stiffly. The store manager's light cough was like a gunshot that hit Ivy's heart.
The lady's hidden meaning was obvious. She was trying to wake up the noble lady beside her.
Ivy had encountered many such things in her original world. The white people opposite her always had a fake smile on their faces. They would start with a light-hearted topic, and then give her meticulous hints and inquiries.
No matter how pleasant the other person's London accent was, or how gentle the other person's tone was, there was always racism hidden in it that was hard to ignore, leaving Ivy at a loss for words.
Ivy sighed. She would rather the other person was a sarcastic and rude person, so that she would have a proper space to vent her anger.
She curled up her body, thinking of herself as a small mushroom that could be trampled on by anyone, and endured the saliva splashing from the sky alone. Appropriate escape is sometimes really useful.
"No! Madam, I must tell you that Miss Ivy is very good and I admire her very much. This banquet was designed by Miss Ivy! I believe that being able to be Miss Ivy's friend is God's best arrangement."
Christine's answer was firm and clear. Her tone was as gentle as a lady's, but her core was so powerful and strong.
Ivy slowly raised her head. She was a little speechless. She felt incredible and caught off guard by being chosen so firmly.
She noticed the look Christine was giving her, sparkling and dazzling, like a sparkling spring in the moonlight.
At this moment, she hesitated for a moment, and at this moment, she felt something rising from the bottom of her heart, instantly warming her whole body.
"Well, I'm not... I'm not talking about you... you..."
Christine's words hit the nail on the head, and the lady was a little embarrassed and at a loss.
"Well, have fun... I think I need to talk to your mother."
"Mother is over there, please go over."
Christine's tone left no room for doubt. Ivy caught a glimpse of the lady's slightly furrowed brows, and her fingers holding the champagne turned white, as if she was about to crush the glass in the next moment.
The lady turned her jaw stiffly, raised her eyebrows unconsciously, and her tone was trembling, but still fluent and high-pitched.
"Just have fun with this oriental girl. I'm just reminding you that a member of the royal family is visiting today, so don't cause trouble for Mrs. Emerson!"
Mrs. Baxter lifted her skirt and bowed to everyone, then walked into the tent, twisting her waist like a proud hen.
"Thank you, Christine."
Ivy couldn't wait to hold Christine's hand, tears in her eyes.
Inexplicable emotions burst out in her heart, filling her entire chest. Even though she had thousands of heartwarming words, the only thing she could say was "thank you".
“It’s fine, really!”
Christine wiped away the tears from Ivy's eyes with a smile, and her tone was soft and warm, which forced a few more tears out of Ivy.
"Hiss—But what was the last thing Madam said? Royal family members?"
"Oh? Oh...oh! She must be talking about Archduke Eric Brontz."
The store manager's deep baritone voice squeezed into the space between the two girls.
"He is a relative of Prince Albert. He came here today in the royal carriage and attracted a lot of attention as soon as he arrived."
The store manager stroked his beard, looking intoxicated.
He placed the halved strawberries on two large chocolate crispy balls and handed them to the two girls.
"Truffle chocolate hazelnut cake, plus two juicy strawberries, I wish you two ladies a wonderful night!"
The store manager did a side flip in the open space with ease, causing the servants to stop and praise him.
While Ivy was applauding, she was also amazed at the manager's chef's hat which remained motionless.
"Just a member of the German royal family. What does it have to do with Mrs. Emerson?"
Christine asked, tapping the hard chocolate crust.
"I was thinking, what does this have to do with us?"
Ivy shrugged, looking nonchalant.
"It's a big deal, ladies."
A clear and attractive male voice suddenly sounded behind them, and the two girls were so scared that they almost threw the desserts in their hands away.
"what--"
"Who!"
"Let me know in advance when you show up!"
Ivy was so angry that she punched Dorian hard on the shoulder, but Dorian's upright figure did not shake at all.
He sighed and slowly walked over to the two girls.
"I did not invite any royal family members. This person came uninvited. He will not attend this banquet, nor will he meet with Mother." Dorian said in a steady tone.
"He was riding in the royal carriage, which means he represented the royal family. According to my father and his good friends, the manor suffered a severe blow some time ago, and many people impeached the Emerson family in front of Her Majesty the Queen." Christine's tone was a little lower.
"so what?"
Ivy still didn't understand what was going on. She looked at the two of them and put the whole strawberry chocolate ball into her mouth.
"That means he was ordered by Her Majesty the Queen to come and cause trouble for Mother!"
"It means he came here to support the Emerson family under the order of Her Majesty the Queen!"
Dorian and Christine expressed their own conclusions at the same time, each speaking in completely different directions.
"Ahem, Brother Andrew told me that Grand Duke Eric Bronze pursued Mother many years ago, but Mother chose Lucas Emerson."
"This is proof that he still has feelings for Mrs. Emerson and wants to help her during her low period."
"The Krauts are all hateful people. If they can't have it, they want to destroy it. I've been to Germany and I know this very well."
"Don't stereotype!" Ivy stopped Dorian from talking too much.
"The Germans I knew were all romantic incarnations: Prince Albert, Goethe, Bach, and Mozart."
"Isn't Mozart from Austria?" Ivy looked at Christine puzzled.
In short, the smell of gunpowder in the air was getting stronger and stronger. The two children of the same age stared at each other and refused to give in.
Ivy sighed deeply and simply turned away from the two of them.
There was a tinkling sound coming from the other side of the tent, as if someone was knocking on a glass.
For a moment, everyone stopped talking, and the grass gradually became quiet, with only the bubbling of the cooking pot and the sizzling of the frying pan.
Dorian and Christine stopped arguing and were also attracted by the pleasant sound of glass.
They both stood beside Ivy, and the three of them looked towards the tent.
"Whether you need help or inspection, the banquet must go on smoothly. Look! The good show I directed myself is about to begin!"
Ivy's face was full of pride. She crossed her arms, raised her chin unconsciously, and her tone became light and joyful.
"Ladies and gentlemen! Let us welcome SMURFY!"
