Chapter 92: The War of El
Chapter 92: The War of El
“Oh, right, during Jamie’s show, an audience member asked where these bugs came from. Jamie passed the question on to Peak, and Peak relayed it to me.” Muko suddenly remembered something.
"Muko, this audience member probably means to ask where the Zerg originated, right?"
"Yes, although we humans and gods have thought about this problem, we have no clue. We fight the Zerg almost every day, just trying to eliminate more insects. We are exhausted and have no time to think about so much."
"Yes, we will also investigate where the bugs came from. I believe we will find out sooner or later."
Zhou Yuan pondered for a while. The lunar Gaia system would be fully debugged in a day, and then it would be able to view the entire galaxy. No, the probes for those more than 500 globular clusters have not yet been deployed. This is the only flaw in the "Eye of the Stars" scheme.
"Peak, let me ask you a question."
"You said."
What are your thoughts on globular clusters?
"Globular clusters? I personally think they are an abnormal existence, and their existence is quite astonishing. It is said that many advanced civilizations have tried to explore them, but none of them have returned. Therefore, globular clusters are listed as forbidden zones by various civilizations, and are considered to be the most dangerous areas in this galaxy."
"So, those globular clusters were created by an advanced civilization?"
"I think so."
"Hmm, this is a bit troublesome."
"What trouble?" Mukopike and the others pressed.
"I'm just hypothesizing: what if the Zerg originated from globular clusters?"
"Huh?" Neither the human race nor the gods had ever thought about this question.
"That's just speculation. If there really is an advanced civilization in the globular cluster, why don't they just wipe us out? Why do they have to create a Zerg to deal with us?" Peak retorted to Zhou Yuan.
"Yes, you're right. I hope my concerns are unfounded. However, it's possible that they would use henchmen as thugs."
"Xinglute, what's wrong?" Muke and Peak saw that Xinglute was obviously flustered.
"I just received news that countless insects are on their way, preparing to attack Aiur."
"what?!"
"Xinglut, I will immediately dispatch a fleet to support you."
“Xinglut, we will also send a fleet to provide support.”
The holographic communication link was lost, and everyone stepped up their deployment efforts to provide support.
The planetary city of the Sand Star Empire immediately became bustling with activity. On the two planets of the planetary city, the Protoss aircraft carrier fleet began to set sail, and on other planets of the Sand Star Empire, the Human warships had also completed their assembly. The ten fleets of the Earth Empire were already waiting outside the planetary city.
The three fleets, using warp drive, reached the vicinity of Aiur, the Protoss homeworld.
The Protoss homeworld Aiur actually has two planets. One planet was later moved there and terraformed; this planet was specifically used by the Protoss to research and produce weapons. The Protoss's true homeworld Aiur, however, is a beautiful, green planet filled with blue oceans, lush jungles, and prosperous cities.
Above the two Protoss homeworlds, Protoss aircraft carriers, Phoenix fighters, interceptors, Tempests, Glows, Photon Turrets, Probes, Sentry Towers, Phase Crystals, and other aerial combat and conversion units are scattered throughout the skies.
The three fleets had just emerged from warp space and rendezvoused with the Protoss homeworld forces less than five minutes later when Earth's human warships detected large, massive objects approaching in the vicinity of this space.
Sure enough, nearly six hundred planets jumped out of warp space from all directions near the two planets, tightly surrounding the two Protoss homeworlds.
The Zerg have mobilized so many planets this time; it seems they're preparing for a decisive battle.
With over six hundred planets, coupled with the Zerg's rapid reproduction and combat capabilities, no matter how much the Terrans and Protoss ramp up their production of combat units or how much reinforcement they provide, they will likely be no match for the Zerg and will ultimately be wiped out by them.
However, this time the Zerg unfortunately encountered the Earth Empire's fleet.
The Earth Empire's ten fleets activated their shields, forming a massive energy shield that enveloped the two planets of Aiur, the humans, the gods, all warships and objects of the Earth fleet.
The Protoss were astonished and amazed to see such a powerful and large-scale energy shield for the first time, while the Sand Star Humans were filled with admiration.
"You two should hold your horses for now and watch how we wipe out the Zerg," Zhou Yuan said bluntly.
Looking at the dense clusters of planets and the overwhelming Zerg army, the Terrans and Protoss had to consider their survival even if they wanted to charge.
"Humans from Earth, are you sure you can handle this?" Xinglut still didn't quite believe that humans from Earth could stand on their own.
"Yes, you only have ten fleets, while the Zerg are far too numerous," the Terrans said with concern.
"Don't worry, we understand. Your fleet just needs to protect the two planets."
"Ok."
In no time, the Zerg's flying dragons, mosquitoes, bats, ravens, and flying crabs arrived near the home planet Aiur. These Zerg creatures had undergone more than a thousand years of mutation and evolution, and were no longer as small as their original names suggested. Instead, they had become enormous, and their armor was very sturdy, with some even able to withstand attacks from lasers.
The Zerg were incredibly numerous, completely surrounding the two planets of Aiur. These insects blotted out the sky, somewhat resembling the clusters of light protecting the sun in the Spider Nebula of the Large Magellanic Cloud.
These flying dragons, mosquitoes, bats, ravens, and flying crabs rushed towards the energy shield at high speed, but the energy shield didn't even ripple. These impacting insects were like mosquitoes hitting a steel plate, having no effect whatsoever, while they themselves were smashed to pieces.
The Zerg were not stupid; they immediately stopped their attack and instead gathered around the energy shield for thousands of kilometers.
More than six hundred insectoid planets were created, and flying creatures such as dragons, mosquitoes, bats, ravens, and flying crabs were constantly being manufactured. These newly created flying creatures were rapidly moving towards Aiur, gathering in ever-growing numbers. Eventually, these insectoid creatures did not simply darken the sky, but completely surrounded the two planets of Aiur, preventing even a sliver of sunlight from penetrating.
Protected by an energy shield, the planet Aiur resembled a glowing sphere situated within a dark abyss. Countless insectoid creatures lay poised, mouths agape, seemingly eager to devour this sphere of light.
"Earth Fleet, begin launching neutron star marbles, targeting those six hundred-plus insectoid planets!"
The Neutron Star Marble is a small, high-density weapon recently developed by the Earth Empire Academy of Sciences, designed to combat the Zerg and destroy their planets. As its name suggests, this marble has the density of a neutron star; a marble with a diameter of one centimeter would have a mass of six to seven hundred million tons.
More than six hundred neutron star marbles were launched one by one at the insectoid planets surrounding Aiur.
The neutron star marble instantly pierced through the bodies of insectoid creatures such as dragons, mosquitoes, bats, ravens, and flying crabs, reaching the insectoid planets.
Neutron star marbles, like anchors breaking through water, plunged directly into the planet's interior, reaching its core. Then, these neutron star marbles emerged from the other side of the planet. The planet's gravity pulled the neutron star marbles back, and they plunged into the planet's interior again, reaching its core once more, penetrating the planet once more. In this way, the neutron star marbles repeatedly and rapidly pierced in and out, shuttling back and forth like a needle. In no time, the Zerg's more than six hundred planets became riddled with holes, with lava erupting and overflowing, frequent earthquakes, and finally, all the planets exploded into countless fragments.
Although there are still a few Zerg hatcheries among the many planetary fragments, the Zerg's reproduction rate and numbers have clearly decreased dramatically.
The Sand Star humans and gods were initially astonished, then erupted in jubilation. They had once again witnessed the power of humanity on Earth.
Next, we need to figure out how to deal with those Zerg creatures.
Earth's human warships began projecting a thousand enormous orbs of light. These orbs flew towards the spherical surface surrounding the energy shield, then stopped outside the shield's sphere. The thousand orbs shattered, their interconnected filaments forming a vast network of light. This network, centered on Aiur, rapidly expanded outwards at the speed of light. While the Zerg creatures—including dragons, mosquitoes, bats, ravens, and flying crabs—could travel at near-light speed, they lacked warp drive capabilities; the Zerg relied solely on planetary systems for warp navigation. Under these circumstances, the outcome was obvious: the network of light neatly sliced all the fleeing Zerg creatures into countless pieces, this time the cuts not ten centimeters, but one millimeter.
The Zerg creatures, which had been leaping and bounding through the air just moments before, were now frozen in place, as if by magic, simply piling up in space. The Protoss were utterly stunned. Although they too possessed magical powers, this method of mass slaughter was still terrifying. The Sandstar Terran warships, despite various reconnaissance efforts, could not find any wounds on the Zerg creatures.
Half an hour later, as if the magic had been removed, the bodies of all the insectoid creatures began to separate. First, there were several large pieces of corpses, and then these large pieces of corpses broke into very small pieces. In the end, the area around the planet Aiur was filled with piles of insect corpse fragments!
The Earth human fleet deactivated its energy shields, and the energy shields on the two planets of Aiur immediately disappeared.
The sunlight finally reappeared, shining through the gaps in the corpse fragments and illuminating the planet Aiur once more, creating patches of light on the ground.
"Gods, what should we do with those planetary fragments?" Zhou Yuan's question startled both the Sand Star people and the Gods.
"So many planetary fragments, we definitely can't leave them unattended. As long as one Zergling exists, it will be a huge threat to our home planet. We Protoss can clean them up."
"That's good."
"Humans of Earth, may we sit down and talk?" Xingmate, the Supreme Council Leader of the Protoss, extended an invitation.
“Okay.” Zhou Yuan accepted the invitation from the gods. Although he didn’t know what the gods wanted to discuss, Zhou Yuan was still somewhat curious about them.
"You two can talk things out. We're heading back to Planet City first." The Sand Star humans were quite sensible; their fleet quickly departed and then jumped into warp space.
Some Protoss fleets began to set out to clear the large number of Zerg planetary fragments scattered throughout space.
Zhou Yuan was eager to see how the Protoss would handle these fragments, but the VIP ship sent by the Protoss was already waiting outside the fleet.
