Chapter 89: Welcome to the Alliance
Chapter 89: Welcome to the Alliance
"Ladies and gentlemen, this is Jamie. First, I have some very exciting news to share. Our close ally, the Earth Empire, has just jumped out of warp drive with 110 fleets and will arrive at Planet City in half an hour. Commander-in-Chief of the Imperial Fleet, Muko, our old friend Starrut representing the Protoss, the genius scientist Peak, and a large number of high-ranking Imperial officials are all ready to welcome us."
"Before humans arrive on Earth, let's insert a video clip. This is an interview with the genius scientist Peak by Jamie, the famous host of the Empire, who is me."
"Peak, how much benefit do you think an alliance with Earth's humans would bring us?"
'Jamie, you should ask this: what benefits will we gain from an alliance with the Earth Empire?'
'You mean to say that these Earthlings are more advanced than us?'
Yes, although we have made tremendous progress in the past hundred years, we must admit that humanity on Earth is many years more advanced than us.
What criteria did you use to make that judgment?
'Their warships' combat capabilities and their ability to transport stars. You can watch the videos transmitted back by our Imperial fleet.'
"My God, combat modules, drones, intelligent robots, mech warriors—they can directly destroy planets and use portals to transport stars. These are far more advanced than ours, and seem considerably more advanced than the Protoss."
'Jamie, you're absolutely right. So, what you're asking is, how much benefit will we gain from an alliance with humanity on Earth?'
"Pike, I'm curious, if humanity on Earth were to clash with the five known civilizations, who do you think would win?"
"Regarding the five major civilizations, we have only observed them through interstellar battles and the information passed down between them. Without witnessing their combat capabilities firsthand, I cannot make an accurate judgment."
"Peak, do you think that if we allied with humanity on Earth, we could wipe out those awful insects?"
'I'm still confident about this. I believe that if our three races join forces, we will definitely achieve final victory.'
"I hope so. Peak, thank you for agreeing to this interview."
"We're old friends, no need to be so polite."
"Dear viewers, Jamie has just received confirmation that the Imperial Guard Fleet has met with the humans on Earth. I'm sure you're all curious, the live stream will be connected shortly."
"My God, that giant warship of Earth's humans is much larger than our largest one. I wonder how much damage these warships will inflict on those wretched insects? Let's wait and see. Now it's time for a ten-minute Q&A session. Viewers with questions or opinions are welcome to ask as soon as possible. Feel free to call our hotline."
"Jamie, thank goodness, I finally got through. This is Dottie. I wanted to ask if Peak has a girlfriend? I really like him."
“Dottie, I don’t know either, but I will convey your feelings to my good friend Peak.”
"Jamie, are humans on Earth like us?"
“This beautiful lady, Peak has met with representatives of Earth’s human race before. He said that Earth’s human race looks very similar to us, except that they are taller than us.”
"That's wonderful! I'd like to ask, is it possible for us to marry into their family?"
"This? I don't know either. It's up to the Empire's higher-ups to decide, and it also depends on whether the Earth Empire's humans are willing."
"Jamie, I saw the Earth's human warship. It was a live broadcast, of course. Their biggest warship, I calculated, is about 1,200 kilometers long. This giant warship is about the size of an asteroid."
"Handsome guy, I'm curious, how did you calculate that?"
"I compared and calculated based on the warships in our escort fleet."
"I must say, handsome, you're very smart. Do you have any questions or suggestions?"
"Jamie, it's a little embarrassing to say, but I've been interested in warships since I was a child. If I could go and see one of their giant warships, I would be completely satisfied."
"I will convey your message to the Imperial high command."
"Jamie, Jamie, I finally got through."
"What would you like to say, dear little one?"
"Jamie, do humans on Earth have children too?"
"You should be able to. You want to play with alien kids?"
"Yes, Jamie, we can't wait."
"us?"
"My group of friends."
"Jamie, I just stepped on a bug. I want to know, where do those nasty bugs come from?"
"Sir, Imperial scientists are working hard on this. These insects reproduce and evolve wildly wherever they go. As you know, our footprints haven't covered the entire galaxy yet, so we can't give you the answer you want immediately."
"Yes. But I personally believe that only by finding their source can we completely eradicate them. They are like germs."
"Uncle, you're right. I've noted down what you just said, and I will definitely relay it to the higher-ups of the Empire. Ladies and gentlemen, ten minutes are almost up, and there's one last question."
"Jamie, where do humans on Earth come from? Where are they located on the star map? I need to find them tonight."
"Humans on Earth say their home planet was destroyed by the Zerg over a thousand years ago, and now, led by the princess, they are seeking revenge. Excuse me, viewer, I need to switch scenes. Ladies and gentlemen, the Earth Empire fleet has arrived at the two new planets of Planet City, and representatives of humanity on Earth will soon participate in a grand welcoming ceremony. Let's go see what's happening there."
Within a ten-light-year radius of the planetary city of the Sandstar Empire, there are currently sixty-seven Earth-like planets. Two of them are used as bases for the Earth Empire's fleet, and two are the bases for the Protoss, the Sandstar Empire's current ally. The military and civilians of the other sixty-plus planets are all gathered around a holographic television screen to watch the second-largest celebration ceremony in the history of the Sandstar Empire.
On a beautiful, large planet called Planet City, in the vast plaza of the Sand Star Empire's administrative building, Zhou Yuan, Wei Shan, and Lefia were teleported by light to their seats at the front desk under the watchful eyes of millions.
Many of the Sand Star people, who were representatives of the five divine races, were seeing Earth humans for the first time. All the Sand Star people and the divine races couldn't help but marvel at how similar Earth humans were to the Sand Star people, only taller.
The Protoss, originally called the Protoss, were later referred to as such by humans due to their powerful psychic abilities. Individual Protoss individuals resemble humans in appearance, are tall, and stand approximately 2.9 meters tall. The Protoss comprise nine tribes in interstellar space. Besides possessing more advanced technology than the Sand Star people, Protoss individuals are often clad in full armor, possess a strong psychic field, and are extremely powerful in combat. The Protoss fought the Sand Star people for four to five hundred years, but due to a large-scale invasion of Sand Star and Protoss territories by the Zerg, the two races were forced to make peace and form an alliance to fight against the Zerg. The Protoss have two major weaknesses or shortcomings. First, their reproductive rate is low, and their total population is incomparable to that of the Zerg or even the Terrans. Therefore, individual Protoss lives are very precious. The Protoss have created many advanced technological weapons such as war robots, colossi, photon turrets, warships, energy crystals, and powerful consciousness field weapons such as the Pursuer, Dark Templar, and Star Reaper to compensate for their lack of manpower. Second, the Protoss practice a parliamentary system with a complex and cumbersome religious system. This religious system and dogma stipulate that Protoss subjects must not betray the Protoss. This dogmatism often restricts individual innovation and limits the development of the entire Protoss. Therefore, the Protoss develops much more slowly than the Terrans of Sand Star.
"Fellow Sand Star brethren and Protoss allies, today we jointly celebrate a glorious moment. The Earth Empire, humanity, will join our alliance to jointly eradicate the ever-expanding and rampant Zerg. This star system has long been in turmoil; even the five major civilizations we know seem to allow the Zerg to run rampant. Earth humanity, as one of the many victims of the Zerg, will fight alongside us, shoulder to shoulder, to eliminate those despicable insects." Muko's words grew increasingly impassioned, and the applause in the square was thunderous and prolonged.
"Although we, the Protoss, have had many frictions and misunderstandings with your Sand Star Humans in the past, I believe that after more than three hundred years of alliance and cooperation, our relationship will be even stronger. We, the Protoss, also welcome our new ally, the humans of Earth, to join us. We will each perform our duties and work together to eradicate the Zerg." Protoss representative, Councilor Starrut, didn't say much, perhaps a common characteristic of the Protoss, who prefer spiritual communication.
Next, Zhou Yuan, the representative of humanity on Earth, delivered a speech.
"The history of the Andromeda Galaxy begins a new chapter today. Whether it's the Sand Star People, the Protoss, or us Earthlings, we all share a common goal: to protect our beautiful home. This home is not just Planet City and Aiur, but the entire Andromeda Galaxy. The Zerg are naturally our alliance's primary target for extermination. However, because this galaxy is so vast, if we want to completely eradicate the Zerg, we must mobilize the entire civilization of the galaxy."
"Ah, what is the Earth's human representative saying? Mobilizing the entire galaxy's civilization? Is that even possible?" Some Sand Star people began to whisper among themselves.
"I know you still have doubts, but please think about it. If the Zerg are not completely eradicated, then even if it is just a spore of a Zerg or a human being, all our efforts will be in vain, and the Zerg will come back again. As for mobilizing the civilization power of the entire galaxy, leave that to us humans on Earth. I guarantee that it will not cause any trouble for the Sand Star and the Protoss."
"What the Earth's human representative said seems to make sense. However, mobilizing the entire civilization's power across the galaxy is simply impossible. Even if the five major civilizations united, it seems impossible to do so. This galaxy is just too vast."
"Everyone, no matter how big this galaxy is, if we allow the Zerg to develop unchecked, I believe they will soon take over the entire galaxy. At that time, I'm afraid all intelligent life in this galaxy will have nowhere to stand. Therefore, we must unite and completely eliminate the Zerg."
"Completely annihilate the Zerg!" everyone shouted, finally unleashing the pent-up frustration of centuries of persecution at the hands of the Zerg.
The commanders of the Earth-Moon Joint Fleet, including George, nodded in agreement. They now realized that perhaps it was the existence of the Zerg that had suppressed the rapid development of many advanced civilizations in the Andromeda Galaxy. However, the Zerg's development seemed to be spiraling out of control. If they weren't eradicated now, it would be too late to stop them once they achieved the ability to navigate galaxies.
(PS: Aiur, the Protoss homeworld, is a green planet with pristine oceans, lush jungles, and prosperous cities, and a planet for military research and weapons production.)
