Chapter 332: The Second Level of the Poison Dragon Cave
Chapter 332: The Second Level of the Poison Dragon Cave
Li Wei stood at the entrance to the second level of the Poison Dragon Cave.
Glancing around, he said, "What are we waiting for? Let’s go down."
Evelyn nodded. "Let’s go."
"Last time, I stopped on the second level. I couldn’t find the entrance to the third."
Li Wei was a little surprised. "Is the terrain below very complex?"
Evelyn nodded. "It is indeed very complex. It’s like a massive underground Maze."
"A Maze?"
The moment Li Wei heard the word "Maze," he thought of the Endless Maze.
He now had a mild phobia of Mazes.
His experience inside the Endless Maze had not been pleasant.
The three of them walked toward the great fissure.
The sunlight from above gradually disappeared, and darkness fell before them.
A small Fireball flew from Li Wei’s palm and floated above their heads, illuminating the surroundings.
The damp floor and walls of the cave were covered in purplish-green moss.
This moss was all poisonous.
Inside the Poison Dragon Cave, almost everything was poisonous.
RUSTLE RUSTLE.
Li Wei heard the sound of poisonous insects crawling through the surrounding soil.
The Invisible Armor could block poisonous insects and toxic mists, but it couldn’t repel them.
The poisonous insects would still approach the trio.
Seeing this, Evelyn said, "Let’s use a Protective Talisman. These bugs are a bit annoying."
Li Wei nodded. "If the three of us stick together, one Protective Talisman should be enough. I’ll do it."
He took out a Protective Talisman and opened it.
A unique fragrance spread out.
Upon smelling it, their minds instantly cleared, and they felt a refreshing coolness spread deep within their minds.
The scent of the Protective Talisman was refreshing and revitalizing.
It could ward off the effects of most toxic mists in the Poison Dragon Cave.
Once the scent of the Protective Talisman had spread, the surrounding poisonous insects immediately scurried away.
Li Wei saw a purple-black, highly venomous centipede as thick as two fingers scuttle out of a crack in the rock by his feet and flee.
He looked a bit startled.
’I can’t believe there was such a huge poisonous bug right by my feet.’
Suddenly, someone bumped into him from behind.
Li Wei instinctively turned to look.
Lilith, a nervous expression on her face, had moved closer to Li Wei.
Li Wei looked surprised. "You’re afraid of bugs?"
Hearing this, Lilith glanced at him, suppressed her fear, and took a step back.
"Hmph, I’m not scared."
Li Wei let out a soft chuckle.
Lilith said, a bit annoyed, "What are you laughing at? You were startled too."
Li Wei turned back around without saying a word, a faint smile lingering on his lips.
Evelyn glanced back at the two of them but said nothing.
The three of them continued onward.
Wherever they went, the poisonous insects retreated.
After walking for a while, the trio stopped.
Under the light of the Fireball, they could see a white, toxic mist filling the cavern ahead.
Evelyn said, "The white miasma is the least toxic mist in the Poison Dragon Cave, but you can’t be careless. Sometimes, even the white miasma can be extremely potent."
Li Wei asked, "Can the Protective Talisman block it?"
Evelyn nodded. "Yes, it can."
Li Wei walked toward the white miasma.
As he neared the white miasma, he was surprised to find that the aura emanating from the Protective Talisman formed an oval shape, pushing the surrounding mist away to create a safe zone.
His Spiritual Power swept through the white miasma.
Li Wei discovered that the so-called mist was actually countless tiny particles.
These particles were in constant motion.
Li Wei guessed they might be some kind of bacteria or minuscule poisonous insects.
These imperceptibly small poisonous insects also disliked the scent of the Protective Talisman and would subconsciously stay away from Li Wei.
Evelyn and Lilith moved closer to Li Wei, staying within the protected area.
A mere white miasma didn’t warrant the use of three Protective Talismans.
The three of them walked deeper into the white miasma.
The white mist was thick, making it impossible to see what lay within the cavern.
Li Wei released his Spiritual Power to scout the area ahead.
His Spiritual Power detected the forms of countless poisonous insects.
The sight made Li Wei’s skin crawl.
’It’s enough to give me trypophobia.’
WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH!
Something was moving quickly through the white mist, stirring up great gusts of wind.
Li Wei quickly shouted, "Careful, something’s coming!"
Evelyn and Lilith both grew vigilant and prepared for battle.
A moment later, Li Wei saw the object moving rapidly through the white miasma.
It was a black spider, as large as a washbasin, shimmering with iridescent colors.
An iridescent black.
Under the light of the Fireball, as the iridescent black spider moved, the colors on its body constantly shifted.
It blended in with its surroundings.
A form of camouflage.
As the iridescent spider neared the trio, it leaped up and shot a venomous web from its abdomen.
The web cut through the white miasma with a SIZZLING sound.
A pungent odor filled the air.
Just one breath made them feel dizzy and heavy-headed.
Thankfully, the refreshing scent of the Protective Talisman kept their minds clear; otherwise, they probably would have collapsed after a single whiff.
Li Wei activated his Invisible Armor to block the toxic gas.
The Fireball above his head rapidly expanded and shot toward the venomous web.
WHOOSH!
CRACKLE!
The flames incinerated the venomous web, and a highly toxic aura filled the cavern.
Even though it was burned, the venom carried by the web did not disappear.
Instead, it dispersed into the air.
The surrounding white miasma gradually turned a ghastly green.
Seeing this, Evelyn’s face filled with alarm. She shouted, "Be careful! That’s a Poisonous Widow Spider, a Tier Three Poison creature!"
"Get back! Don’t touch this green toxic mist! The Protective Talisman can’t block it."
Li Wei did not retreat. He raised his right hand.
"No need to fall back. I will burn it all to ash!"
"Blazing Flame Shock!"
A cone of blue flame spread out, filling the entire cavern.
CRACKLE!
Under the searing heat of the Blue Fire, the toxic mist rapidly dissipated.
SQUEAL!
The Poisonous Widow Spider let out a terrified shriek and hastily retreated.
"Don’t even think about escaping! Fire Snake Skill!"
The flames in front of Li Wei transformed into a Fire Serpent and shot toward the retreating Poisonous Widow Spider.
Evelyn watched the magnificent transformation of the flames, her face a picture of shock.
Such a level of control was simply unbelievable.
She stared at Li Wei’s back, utterly stunned.
The way Li Wei was Casting his Magic completely shattered her understanding of it.
She had never imagined Magic could be used like this.
’Is the Elemental Tower that amazing? To have improved Li Wei’s strength by so much?’
Evelyn thought to herself.
She had assumed Li Wei only learned these things after going to the Elemental Tower.
Lilith calmly watched the flames ahead.
The shadows at her feet gradually subsided.
Li Wei already had the situation under control; she didn’t need to act.
WHOOSH! BOOM!
The Fire Serpent caught up to the Poisonous Widow Spider and exploded with a boom.
It burned the Poisonous Widow Spider to ashes.
The spreading flames also incinerated all the toxic mist within the cavern.
The view before them cleared.
Evelyn said with regret, "You were too ruthless. The Poisonous Widow Spider was burned to cinders, so its silk gland and Poison Sac are gone too. What a waste of money."
Hearing this, Li Wei didn’t feel it was a pity at all.
Loot was a matter of luck.
It was great if you got some, but there was no need to force it if you didn’t.
In the middle of a battle, he couldn’t afford to think about such things and choose to show mercy.
’Just go all out and get it over with.’
