As the convoy entered the encirclement on the side road, a series of explosions rang out.

Company Commander Wang detonated a landmine buried on the path, blowing over the truck at the front of the road.

After the landmines exploded, fierce gunfire erupted from the bushes on both sides of the path.

Company Commander Wang led his soldiers in firing fiercely at the Japanese troops on the path.

Just as the battle on the small road was raging, the roar of airplanes came from the direction of Yushan County.

Upon hearing the roar of the aircraft, the signalman immediately fired a flare into the air.

The flares illuminated the path as if it were daytime.

Using the light from the flares and explosions, the pilot spotted the Japanese convoy on the path and immediately swooped down, strafing and bombing the convoy.

The Japanese major was worried about being attacked by the devilish air force during the day, so he assembled his infantry using only a small number of trucks.

It was nighttime, and he was confident that the Devil Force's air force wouldn't appear, so he mobilized all the trucks he could and advanced towards Yushan County. Little did he know that he would be met with an even fiercer air attack from the Devil Force's air force than during the day.

To avoid accidental bombing, Company Commander Wang led his soldiers back to Xianxia Ridge along the ditches when the air force began its air raids on the Japanese army.

The major knew that these were all the trucks that Changshan County could mobilize, and he immediately ordered his soldiers to turn around and retreat.

The pilots of the First Army saw through the Japanese army's intentions and immediately swooped down to straf and bomb the trucks behind the convoy.

The rear Japanese convoy was bombed by the First Army Air Force, and several trucks were destroyed.

The destroyed trucks blocked the road, making it impossible for the Japanese convoy to retreat back to Changshan County.

In order to completely destroy the Japanese army's transportation capabilities in Changshan County, the Nanxiong Air Force of the First Army dispatched a fighter squadron and a bomber squadron to carry out a night raid.

After blocking the Japanese army's retreat and advance routes, they began to launch precision bombing and strafing attacks on the Japanese convoys blocked on the narrow roads.

With nowhere to hide, the Japanese soldiers had no choice but to abandon the trucks and flee in all directions.

The air force of the First Army did not leave until it had destroyed all the Japanese trucks on the path.

Company Commander Wang led his soldiers to a hilly area halfway back to Xianxia Ridge, where they stopped their retreat, set up a perimeter, and observed the movements of the Japanese army.

However, even after guarding the area until the middle of the night, Company Commander Wang and his men still hadn't found any trace of the Japanese soldiers.

Before dawn, Company Commander Wang sent scouts to investigate the movements of the Japanese army.

Scouts discovered that the Japanese army had cleared the blocked path. The troops were assembling, preparing to head to Yushan County.

Upon hearing the intelligence from the scouts, Company Commander Wang immediately reported to the Third Regiment Commander.

The regimental commander immediately called for air force reinforcements.

After daybreak, the Japanese army began its march toward Yushan County.

Before the Japanese troops even reached Xianxia Ridge, the First Army Air Force had already arrived. However, as soon as the Japanese troops heard the roar of the planes from afar, they immediately hid in the bushes on both sides of the path.

The air force of the First Army did not find any trace of the Japanese troops and continued to circle in the air.

The Japanese army abandoned its plan to march along the small path and instead slowly marched towards Xianxia Ridge along the grass on both sides of the path.

The Japanese troops secretly arrived in the hilly area, but were attacked by Company Commander Wang and his men.
