Chapter 141 Cave Exploration
Chapter 141 Cave Exploration
After receiving a thorough beating, Doma and Komaji finally quieted down a bit.
It's a bit like a rigid, old-fashioned grandfather lecturing his two grandsons.
However, Kokushibo's stern face and the way his six large eyes stared at people were still very intimidating.
At least Komaji and Doma haven't caused any more trouble.
The stern-faced old man, Kokushibo, no longer lagged behind but instead led the way.
A sharp sword is far more effective at clearing weeds than a fist or a block of ice.
"Finish the task first, then consider what comes next," Kokushibo said seriously, deciding to take care of the important matter first.
The three ghosts quickly arrived at their destination.
"Huh? It's a cave?"
Douma curiously peered into the dark underground.
In the dark cave, even with a ghost's eyesight, nothing could be seen clearly, which was truly unusual.
This was a pitch-black cave, so dark you couldn't see your hand in front of your face, like a gaping maw of the earth leading straight into the endless depths of darkness. The eerie and terrifying aura emanating from it felt like an invisible hand gripping people's throats, sending chills down their spines.
Standing at the entrance of the cave, you can only feel a chilly wind blowing out from inside, carrying a smell of decay and death.
The wind carried strange, faint sounds, as if something was lurking in the shadows, waiting for its prey to walk into its trap.
Looking into the cave, there was not a single ray of light to be seen, only endless darkness that seemed to be swallowing everything.
This darkness gives people a strong sense of oppression, as if once you take a step in, you will be lost in it forever and never be able to find a way out.
Kokushibo has become alert; the swordsman, who has trained for many years, feels threatened.
As a swordsman who had mastered the Transparent World, Kokushibo's vigilance had long been aroused.
Along the way, the places we went were unusually quiet, so quiet that it was almost eerie.
Normally, such forests should be full of the sounds and signs of life.
However, not only did they not see any wild animals, but even the familiar chirping of insects seemed to have disappeared, and the entire environment fell into an eerie silence.
Doma and Komaji also sensed something was amiss. Though they appeared carefree and nonchalant on the surface, their muscles tensed and they became alert.
The outdoor knowledge courses offered at the academy are definitely worth it!
"It's a perfect location for a monster story."
Doma, completely oblivious to his status as a demon, retorted.
Komaji retorted without hesitation, "Idiot! Shut up! We're the demons!"
"Grinning and chirping."
Komaji took the lead and entered the dark cave. After completing the mission, he still needed to go back to be with his wife!
It's just a reconnaissance mission, isn't it?
Why are you so scared?
Komaji disdained it.
After Komaji went in, Doma and Kokushibo followed closely behind.
Muzan was still squatting outside, but not in human form.
The black cat Muzan was perched on a branch of a large tree, wagging its tail.
Human-shaped creatures are too large and easily spotted, but black cats, which are naturally invisible in the dark, are not a problem.
Komaji, leading the way, walked through the underground cave. The cave was so quiet that only their footsteps could be heard. They couldn't see anything at all, but could barely make out the surrounding situation.
For ghosts who are used to seeing clearly in the dark, this is the first time they have become nearsighted in the dark, and they can't help but feel a little nervous.
Therefore, none of them brought any lighting equipment and had to rely on themselves.
The path through this underground cave is exceptionally steep, like a crack ruthlessly torn open by nature, stretching straight down into the earth.
The entire passage has a downward trend, like a bottomless pit, which makes people feel scared.
Traveling in such an environment, there is absolutely no way to see where the exit is.
That distant end seemed to be hidden in the deepest part of darkness. With each step, the sense of oppression grew stronger, as if one were walking step by step into an unknown abyss, where one might be swallowed up at any moment.
As he walked, Doma left behind ice blocks made with his Blood Demon Art as road signs, and he even took special care to make them into the shapes of various girls.
Upon seeing this, Komaji cursed under his breath that he was a pervert, and continued walking quickly forward.
"Wait for me, Lord Akaza."
Doma was still calling after them.
With a stern face, Komaji's pace quickened.
Doma, who had stopped on the road, touched the wall of the cave, and the feel of it made him thoughtful.
It has a frosted texture, with bumps and pits.
It's a bit strange.
Would normal cave walls look like this?
Komaji suddenly stopped moving.
The sensation under my feet is wrong.
Komaji lifted his foot, squatted down, and looked at the ground.
Upon closer inspection, even with the ghost's eyesight, it could still make out some things clearly.
Doma then squatted down as well.
Kokushibo was right behind him, but he didn't squat down.
Doma touched the pale 'carpet' and began to speak with great interest.
"Is this what they want us to investigate? It is indeed very strange; it feels very similar to a young girl's skin."
This mission is really interesting!
Doma looked at the slowly breathing 'carpet' and sighed inwardly.
"This carpet feels as delicate and soft as a young girl's skin. It has such good taste. I want to go back and have one made too."
Upon hearing this, Komaji, who was examining the unknown 'carpet', bulged the veins on his forehead, clearly on the verge of exploding.
Kokushibo made no comment on Doma's hobby, but simply frowned as he stared at the pale 'carpet'.
His intuition told him that this strange thing was dangerous!
After realizing it was official business, Komaji reluctantly held back, thinking that he must stay away from that pervert Doma. He had heard that Lord Shugo was considering moving, and it seemed like a good idea to go to America with Lord Jinko.
As Komaji pondered this, he used his gloved hand to tear off a pale 'carpet'.
"As expected, it's a strange creature."
Komaji looked at the blood-soaked flesh in his hand, and upon closer inspection, he could still see the blood vessels and tendons on the pale white chunks of flesh.
Out of curiosity, Doma tore off a piece of meat and used his Blood Demon Art to freeze it, turning it into frozen meat.
Komaji ignored Doma, who was playing, and thought to himself, "If I want to keep going, I have to step on this strange creature."
Thinking of this, Komaji frowned and tentatively touched the walls and the ground. When he found that they were all covered by these strange creatures, his expression turned somewhat grim. Walking on other creatures was always a bit unsafe.
It would be a real problem if our escape route was blocked.
Moreover, it was in this narrow and dark underground environment.
If there were enemies, this place would be extremely dangerous.

Doma skipped and hopped along the way, just like someone who came to play: "Arra arra!"
The taciturn nature of Kokushibo, who seemed to have become the mission supervisor, was evident: ...
The only one genuinely doing the work: Hey, hey, this was supposed to be a task for all three of us, so why did it end up being just for me?
A silent father and his two lively sons (just kidding)
