Chapter 512: Food Carts

Old Heng and his friends saw the response of the crowd and they were impressed.

"Congratulations, Master Lin. I can see that business will be brisk for you." Old Heng came up to Lin Xuan Qi, cupped his hands at him and said.

Lin Xuan Qi cupped his hands back at him and said, "Thank you very much, Master Heng.

"I’m sure it will be the same for your shops when they are done."

And that was what Old Heng and his friends wanted to know.

"So, when can we..."

Lin Xuan Qi gave him and his friends a nod and said, "My friends’ shop will be opening tomorrow soon.

"Once everything goes smoothly for them, I can start to take care of things for you."

"That is good news." Old Heng said and stroked his beard, while letting out a laughter.

His friends were equally happy with the good news.

But they weren’t the only ones being anxious.

Young master Chew and his friends came up to Lin Xuan Qi and congratulated him first.

"Everything is so neat and orderly. Congrats to you."

"I think that there will be a queue in front of the store every day."

"Master Lin is indeed a talented young man from what I’ve seen so far."

All of them nodded their heads and agreed that Lin Xuan Qi was someone who had ideas and was able to execute them perfectly.

They didn’t know where he came from, but they were certain that the Lin Clan from Hong Feng City would be talked about in the Da Qian Dynasty in the future.

Lin Xuan Qi gave them a smile and said, "You’ve flattered me, I’m just a businessman like all of you."

"No need to undersell yourself, the fact is right in front of us." Young master Chew gestured at the bustling rice noodle shop and said.

His friends burst out in laughter and they agreed to it.

Lin Xuan Qi smiled back at them, knowing that they had other ideas in mind.

He patted the back of his head and said, "I understand that you are too busy with the shops for Master Heng and his friends for the time being.

"So, I’ve reconsidered and your proposal for the food carts isn’t too bad as a temporary solution for us."

His friends nodded their heads.

After what they had seen so far, they didn’t want to miss out on joining the franchise as soon as possible, and they had changed their minds about the food carts.

Even if they couldn’t make as much as having a shop dedicated to selling the rice noodles and other dishes, the food carts would have to suffice for them.

They would have to do it, unless they wanted to wait, and let the others take up the share of the market before they could.

Even as fellow franchisees they would be competing for market share in Hong Feng City after all.

Lin Xuan Qi nodded his head at them and said, "My proposal for the food carts is still open.

"I will get back and draft the contracts for you when I get back to my mansion after this."

"That’s good to hear. I hope that it wouldn’t be too much of a hassle for you." Young master Chew cupped his hands at Lin Xuan Qi and said.

"It’s definitely not a hassle." Lin Xuan Qi said and cupped his hands back at young master Chew.

He, in fact, welcomed it.

There were only two hundred and sixty taels of gold left after he had bought the four properties for himself, Sima Long, Liu Shao and Hun Xiong Kun.

His funds would be dangerously low if he were to use them up and purchase the twenty properties required by Old Heng and his friends.

If young master Chew and his friends could join with the food carts, the franchise fees from them could help with his liquidity.

He wrote a new set of contracts for them which would require them to pay a hundred taels of silver for joining the franchise and operate with the food carts first.

And when the properties were ready for them they would only have to top up the franchise fee by a hundred taels of silver to operate from the shops.

Their joining fees would bag him three thousand taels of silver or three hundred taels of gold when they were converted.

That would grant him a lot more flexibility with his budget before the end of the month.

After he was done with the contracts, he sent them out to young master Chew and his friends.

It was, however, not the end of the day for him.

Lin Xuan Qi proceeded to ask Old Shao and his team of carpenters and iron smiths to create more of the food carts for them.

There was still time for them to make the food carts so there was less pressure for it, and after creating a few of the food carts so far, Old Shao and his team were now proficient with doing so.

Lin Xuan Qi had dinner and after he cultivated in the lab during the night, he went to bed early to prepare for the opening the next day.
